Collection of Abanindranath Tagore paintings



 Abanindranath Tagore 
(7th august 1871 to 5th december 1951)
Abanindranath Tagore was a great painter at the period of 19th century. He was born in Jorasanko, Calcutta. Tagore learned art when studying at Sanskrit collage in 1880. In 1890 around the age of 20 years he attended the Calcutta school of Art, when he learnt to use pastels from O.Ghilardi, and oil painting from charles Palmer. Tagore popularly know as "Aban Thakur". His books "Raj Kahini","Budoangla","Nalak","Khirer Putul" are very popular in bengali language.
