Collection of Jamini Roy paintings



 Jamini Roy was a great Indian painter. He was born in 11th April 1887  in a village Beliatore,Bankura District,West Bengal. He was one of the most famous pupils of Abanindranat tagore. He was joined the Government collage of art at the age of 16. He looked to the living folk and tribal art for inspiration. He was most influenced by the kalighat pat
He began his career as a commissioned portrait painter. He changed style from his academic western traning and featured a new style based on Bengali folk traditions. He prepared himself to be called a patua.
